Obligations To Your Family

Last Edited:  May 20, 2008 6:25 AM

Decency Standards?06/19/2004Do you have an obligation to your children to bring decency standards into their lives? Do you think the government should be investigating and prosecuting the porn industry, or levy fines on indecency on the radio or TV? What is the obligation of what part of society to create or impose "decency standards?" What are they?
Gay Marriages Should Be Allowed?06/19/2004The word "family" is generally reserved for that "group" which has the obligation of the race to create children, the word "marriage" has been defined even more strictly as that "legal agreement" much like a "partnership agreement" that society recognizes as an agreement which has special importance in assuring the future existence of the race -- or the society.

Judge A Moral Decision?  Look For The Truth!06/19/2004Moral codes down through time have long taught us that you should not lie, that you should tell the truth. What is truth? What is a lie? WHEN should you tell the truth? Is there such a thing a a "small" "social lie?" Does telling the truth include being a witness on crimes you observe? To whom? What is REAL? These are not simple questions -- they call for some insight into these words and the philosophy of morals. How do you "build" a moral code? Is it just a compilation of what the common man thinks is "right" or "wrong?" Do we take a vote? Who does the compiling? How do you judge a "moral code?"
