When you have read the two news articles from the news article you can then consider the moral question:  Where does the rational "obligation" lay?  With Jesse Jackson for offering to negotiate with the terrorists, or with President Bush who says we never negotiate with hostage-takers?

Jesse Jackson is a private citizen, a leader who is not affraid to be critical of the government -- he may succeed in freeing the hostage where the government refuses to even try.I Agree With Jesse Jackson.

The US is fighting a war on terrorism.  The terrorists have proved that they can influence elections and internal political decisions.  Jesse Jackson is actually guilty of treason when he directly undermines the stated policy, and the only rational moral policy, of refusal to negotiate with hostage-takers.

I don't care for either of the above two choices -- they are too extreme. I do not Wish To Vote on them, but am willing to give my opinion on this issue below.
